SUPPORT TO AUSTRIANS FROM BARCELONA

These days it must habe been terrible for Austrians in general to discover that Austria is becoming a focus of international attention once again for the captivity of a young woman, this time for almost 24 years.

I find not logical to attack Austria for this case. I think that Austria has enough with the bad news to add bad press from abroad. What has happened is a disgrace and what Austria needs, I think, is the support of the international community to try to escape from this nightmare. One country cannot be represented by a single man. In Barcelona we had the oppression from Franco and the company of Picasso. Both from Spain. All this case of Josef Fritzl has brought memories to me of old times, of times were fascism reigned in continental Europe. But in front of that I always see Marlene Dietrich and I smile. In front of Franco I see La Pasionaria and I smile. In front of Adolf Hitler I see Angela Merkel and I smile (I admire very much Angela Merkel, she gives such a wonderful image of Germany. And this admiration does not come precisely because I like conservative parties: it is just her image I like so much: she brings calm. She is a gift for Europe)

Well, I just end by repeating my support for Austria in this difficult situation. If Josef is Austrian, Elisabeth is too.

Greetings to my Austrian friend Richard and company in Brussels … a veure si vens per Barcelona i dinem junts un altre cop com sempre que ja fa temps que no ens veiem …
