This new game, the Josef Fritzl game, besides being controversial, makes ma think what kind of games we will have in, let’s say, 100 years.

It has been said that this is a game that makes people realise who wonderful freedom is but I am not so sure this game doe not deserve all the complaints that can be read everywhere.

Everybody knows what this game is about and even the ones who do not know can imagine what a game with that name may mean.

Let me summarise what I have heard about this computer virtual game. A player is kept prisoner by another one. This prisoner, as time passes, has other prisoners around. They have to try to scape from another player who keeps them captive. Until this point the game seems good to me. Some players trying to free themselves. The controverial part is that one part of the game needs also a player, called Josef Fritzl who must try to keep his prisoners in the cellar. I understand perfectly well that the existence of this player is controversial. Some players say this player is essential so that the other players should look for freedom. That maybe true but I find not good that someone should play such a bad character in a game.

I have read some comments from some people who have played this interactive game and it seems that the players who play the prisoner part like the game because they say it has helped them to appreciate how wonderful life is. Being that a game it seems obvious that the game is good for them. The players who play Josef Fritzl say they end exhausted by playing the bad guy of the game.

Knowing these answers I feel a bit confused. Because it seems that the game may help people to look for freedom and to reject submission but at the same time, and that I find a bit terrible this game may give the impression that the best part is the one of the captives. And that’s dangerous! This is not what happens in real life.

Anyway, it seems that the game has different options and sometimes the captives do not get free so they can realise how awful the situation of being captive is. The bad part of that end is that then the Josef Fritzl player has won. Is that ethical?

I also have heard rumours that this game may be forbidden in some countries. And I am not talking about Austria. I am talking about China, for example. It seems that the Chinese government is afraid that the Josef Fritzl player could be associated with a dictatorial regime being the captive players the whole Chinese people.

Who knows, maybe Josef Fritzl held captive his daughter and children but may help through this new game, to bring freedom to the captives of the Chinese dictatorship …
